What causes involuntary childlessness?

There are many reasons why you may have difficulty getting pregnant. In the woman, it may, for example, be due to blocked fallopian tubes, lack of ovulation, endometriosis, muscle nodules, PCOS or polyps in the uterus, while, in the man, the cause is often reduced sperm quality. In many cases, however, there is a combination of causes in the man and the woman.

If all examinations are normal, it is not always possible to explain why you are having difficulties getting pregnant.

A fertility review of the woman comprises

• Statutory test for HIV (anti-HIV 1+2), hepatitis B (HBsAG + anti-HBc) and hepatitis C. In accordance with requirements from the Danish Patient Safety Authority, these tests must be analysed in a laboratory certified pursuant to the Danish Tissue Act (Vævsloven).
• Ultrasound scan of uterus and ovaries
• Examination of passage conditions in the ovaries (HSE). Only in connection with insemination treatment
• Analysis of the hormones AMH, Rubella test, TSH and TPO
• If medically indicated, analysis of FSH, LH, Estradiol, Progesterone and Prolactin
• If you have irregular periods, it will be a medical assessment whether an extended hormone status (androgen status) should be carried out.

A fertility review of the man comprises
