Who needs egg donation?

There is a great shortage of donor eggs for women who cannot form suitable eggs themselves. This may, for example, be due to premature menopause, illness, hereditary diseases or other biological conditions which make them unable to get pregnant with their own eggs.

We obviously ensure that the woman/couple meet(s) all the legal requirements for parental fitness.

Information about the process

Preliminary consultation:

Here we take good time to talk about what being an egg donor entails, and we go through the process.

Registration for treatment:

On the first cycle day, you call us to schedule an appointment for commencement of treatment.

First visit with ultrasound:

On cycle day 2 or 3, you are scanned. If everything is OK, you will start hormone stimulation.

Second visit with ultrasound:

Seven days later you will be scanned again to assess the number and size of your follicles.

Ovulation syringe:

Once the egg sacs are ready, an ovulation syringe is administered which completes the maturation of the eggs.

Egg retrieval:

The doctor draws the follicular fluid with the egg sacs from your ovaries with a fine needle and guided by ultrasound.
