Frequently asked questions

Can I get fertility treatment in Denmark?

Yes. Aleris Fertility welcomes patients from the UK and abroad who are considering fertility treatment in Denmark.

At our clinic in Copenhagen, our fertility specialists help you understand your treatment options and plan a treatment process that fits your situation when you live outside Denmark.
Denmark is known for fertility treatment of a very high standard. At Aleris Fertility, we tailor treatment to the couple’s results, needs and individual situation.

Denmark has liberal rules on sperm donation. You choose your own sperm donor through one of the major sperm banks, such as Cryos or European Sperm Bank.

How many times do I need to travel to Denmark?

This depends on your treatment type and your individual treatment plan.
For IVF treatment, you will usually need to travel to Denmark three times:

• first consultation, required blood tests and treatment plan
• egg retrieval
• embryo transfer

If your first visit is planned at the beginning of your cycle, hormone stimulation can in many cases begin the same day — if the medical assessment shows that this is right for you.
You do not normally need to travel to Denmark for every scan. Scans can be carried out in your home country, if you are able to arrange this locally. The results are sent to Aleris Fertility, so our specialists can follow your treatment and plan the next step.

Is private fertility treatment cheaper in Denmark?

Private fertility treatment in the UK can be costly. For many patients from the UK, fertility treatment in Denmark may be a more affordable alternative.

At Aleris Fertility, we offer transparent pricing, so you know what to expect before you begin. We help you understand what is included in your treatment plan and what you need to arrange separately, such as medication.

Which fertility treatments do you offer?

We help patients from the UK and abroad with several types of fertility treatment. Which treatment is relevant for you depends on your situation and the medical assessment.
We offer, among other treatments:

• Insemination
• IVF
• ICSI
• Donor sperm treatment
• Egg donation
• Social freezing

Is medication included in the treatment price?

No. Medication is not included in the treatment price.

As part of your treatment plan, you will receive information about which medication you need, when to take it and how it fits into your treatment. Medication is normally purchased in your home country, so you can plan this before treatment begins.

Do you offer guidance in English?

Yes. At Aleris Fertility, international patients can receive guidance in English.

How do I get started?

You start by contacting Aleris Fertility and booking a first consultation.

During the consultation, the doctor will review your situation, answer your questions and help you understand which treatment options may be relevant for you. After the consultation, you will receive a clear plan for the next step.
